This month' meeting gave members an opportunity to show their appreciation to outgoing president Carmela Bernacchio, who delivered the state of the chamber address.

Mineola Chiefs 3rd Grade Boys Upset Manhasset Indians
In their 2006 season home opener, the Mineola PAL Chiefs third grade boys lacrosse team beat the Manhasset Indians 4-2 in front of a crowd off over a 100 screaming fans at Hampton Stadium. The team is coached by a father-son tandem of Mark Parendo and Keith Parendo.

Mustangs Baseball Good for Openers --
The Mineola High School boys varsity baseball team jumped into the portion of its schedule called crossover league games as schools from Mineola's conference, A-VI, take on teams from the A-I conference. The Mustangs came through that portion of their schedule with a record of 3-2.
