Obituaries
"Mac" died peacefully in Fort Pierce, FL on March 15, 2006. A former resident of Mineola, Mac served 20 years as a Nassau County Police Officer in the Emergency Services Dept. He was a past president of the PBC and a former post commander with the American Legion in Mineola. He was a decorated WWII veteran who served with the 12th Army Air Force, 47th Bomb Group, 84th Squadron stationed in Italy. Mac also worked as a heavy equipment operator in the NY and FL Operating Engineers Unions. He worked 10 years for Henderickson Bros. Construction in New York before moving to Fort Pierce, where he worked on the building of the Hutchinson Island nuclear power plant. Mac spent his retirement years happily enjoying the Fort Pierce sun and surf and travels to Alaska, Hawaii and visiting his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Eileen, children Patty, Kathy, Peggy, Colleen, John, Barbara, Eileen, Mary and ten grandchildren.
Joann M. Kolar, of Mineola and Palm City, FL, died on March 22, 2006. Wife of Donald. Mother of Kathleen Cunningham, Christine Madonia and Debbie Bradley. Grandmother of Ashley, Conor, Ryan, Tyler, Erin and Lauren. Sister of Mary Falzone and Cathy Meena. Arrangements were made by the Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, Williston Park. Elizabeth Anne Fennely, of Mineola, died on March 23, 2006. Daughter of the late John and Mabel. Sister of Mary Duffy, John, Joseph and the late Ellen Ohrtman. Sister-in-law of the late Patricia Fennelly. Aunt of Judy Cahill, Eileen Hoban, Joseph and Ryan Fennelly. Arrangements were made by the Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, Williston Park.
