Recently, the Mineola American received an email from Tracy Ferrara in Arizona whose family, the Caprise family, lived and worked in Mineola for many years. The family built and ran the SanSuSan and Sheridan Bowl for decades.

These three WWII veterans were from Mineola. Do you know any of them?

Recently, Tracy's grandfather, Frank E. Caprise, passed away. He was 91 years old. Among his belongings were a lot of old newspaper clippings and photographs. Among them was the above photograph that shows three servicemen from World War II.

The three men in the photograph were apparently from Mineola. They named their plane the SanSuSan after the Caprises' Mineola nightclub.

If anyone can identify any of the three men, Tracy Ferrara asks that you email her at tferrara1@cox.net.
