Police Hearings Postponed Until After Election
Mineola Mayor Jack M. Martins decided to postpone any further police hearings, including the one that was scheduled for Saturday, March 4, until after the March 21 village election because he believes the two trustees from the Hometown Party - Linda Fairgrieve and Paul Cusato, who are both running for re-election, have let politics get in the way of the process.

Residents Support School Bond Referendum
The Mineola School District hadn't had much luck with votes lately. The district, currently operating on a contingency budget, saw its fortunes change last week when residents of the district approved a $10,045,000 for the most essential repairs to some of the district's buildings.

Corpus Christi Completes First Ever Super League
On a recent Saturday, Corpus Christi completed its inaugural season of its very own Super League, which consisted of third and fourth graders. The players were divided into four teams - the Celtics coached by Kevin Clancy and Tom Lockwood; the Bulls coached by John Perlow; the Lakers coached by Juan Martinez and the Pistons coached by Keith and Nancy (scorekeeper) Gessner.

Tonini Makes All-State in Wrestling
Mineola High School senior Nick Tonini completed his high school wrestling career in grand fashion. A late entry into the state tournament, Tonini took full advantage of his opportunity and finished fourth in his weight class among the best New York state has to offer. Tonini is co-captain of the Mustang wrestling team.
