Dorothy Cartwright, a former resident of Shelter Island, died on Dec. 16, 2005 at Westchester Care Center in Tempe, AZ. She was 77 years old. Mrs. Cartwright was born in Mineola on Oct. 2, 1928 to Florence (nee Scheirtcliff) and Edward George Webb. She had been a bank teller for North Fork Bank. After leaving Shelter Island, she had lived in New Hampshire before relocating to Arizona.
Predeceased in 1982 by her husband, George E. Cartwright and more recently by her son, Lawrence, she leaves her son, James of Queen Creek, AZ, and her daughter JoAnne Barr of Greer, SC; her brother, Thomas Webb of East Northport; and four grandchildren, Marisa, Julie, Michael and Jessica.
Arrangements were made by the Shelter Island Funeral Home. Interment Shelter Island Cemetery.
Alice Grodotzke, of Mineola, died on Dec. 17, 2005. Wife of the late Floyd. Mother of Thomas (the late Rita), Michael (Marilyn), Kevin (Lizbeth), Judy (Butch) Munzer, Danny (Cathy), Brian (Sheila), Maureen and Alice (Phil) Mazzella. Sister of Anne Lyons William McAleavey and the late Agnes Connelly, Frank and John McAleavey. Grandmother of 30. Great-grandmother of seven. Arrangements were made by the Cassidy Funeral Home, Mineola. Funeral Mass at Corpus Christi RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
