Edward N. Miller, of Mineola, died on Nov. 25, 2005. He was a retired engineer with Grumman Aerospace Corp. and a member of the Exempt Association of the Mineola Fire Dept. Husband of the late Edna. Father of Scott, Bruce and Mark. Father-in-law of Valerie, Janet and Lisa. Grandfather of Scott, Stephanie, Shawn, Michael, Kelly and Nicholas. Jose F. Grilo, of Mineola, died on Dec. 2, 2005. Husband of the late Laura. Father of Mario (Phyllis) and Jose (Maria). Grandfather of Christopher, Samantha and Matthew. Anne Rakowski, of Albertson, died on Dec. 4, 2005. Sister of Elizabeth Martinez. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Williston Park. Funeral Mass at St. Aidan's RC Church. Interment St. John's Cemetery.
Stanley Grom, a long-time resident of Mineola, passed away Nov. 24, 2005 in his sleep at his home after a long illness. Loving husband of Alice. Caring father of Stanley Jr. and Janne and stepchildren, Jack McElwain of California and Alfred Morrie of Port Washington. Beloved grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of eight.
Mr. Grom received a Purple Heart in WWII and was a retired New York State Conservation Officer in law enforcement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and skeet shooting with his wife of 35 years. He was a life time member of the Peconic Rod and Gun Club and also a member of Bayville and Mill River Clubs.
At Stanley's request, there was no funeral. He wanted to be cremated and his ashes spread in the mountains of New Hampshire where he spent much of his time hunting and vacationing with his family.
