PAL roller hockey opened last week for the 2005-2006 season with some great and mild weather, getting the games into full swing.

In the 12 to 13-year-old division, the silver team, the Silverados, coached by Paul Croce and Sal Calabro, opened on Nov. 10 at 7:15 p.m. The Silverados cruised to a 5-1 victory with two goals by Joe Calabro, one by Jake Kinsley, Mike Gangi and Brendan Behan and outstanding defense by Mike Giannone, Steven Laurino and Mike Wilson.

Moving into Friday night, Nov. 11, the Silverados took on the black team in a hard fought battle. The Silverados came away with a 4-1 win as Mike Hanley tallied a hat trick and Joe Lee added a goal. Joe Massaro and Calabro added assists.

After having the weekend off, the Silverados came back to play on Monday night against the orange team. The Silverados remained on a roll with their third victory in as many games. Calabro and Lee each had two goals and Massaro, Behan and Hanley each added one. Silverados' goalie Paul Croce was in superstar form, blocking shot after shot and making aggressive and timely saves. Kevin Paulsen and James Pastoressa created offense with their teamwork on the wings as the Silverados improved to 3-0.
