The 2005 Mineola High School varsity soccer team may have the first Long Island championship in the history of the school's soccer program, but the season has meant much more for a group of young men who learned lessons such as camaraderie and the resiliency to never give up. These traits may sound like a cliché, but in the case of this team, they tell a story of a dream season that has brought Mustang pride to Mineola.

The New Hyde Park/Garden City Park School Board appointed, at its last school board meeting, Michael Frank as assistant superintendent for business. Frank will take over for Bonnie Palker who is retiring at the end of the year.

Storybook Season for 8-Year-Old Chiefs
The Mineola PAL 8-year-old Chiefs, coached by Tim O'Connell, Doric Capsis, Anthony Preston and Andrew Cunningham, finished their storybook season with an undefeated record of 7-0-1. They were the most dominant team in Nassau County in their age group. The Chiefs' offense was nearly unstoppable and the defense was dominant. All the boys played and participated in every game this season. They all showed great character and sportsmanship.

Mineola PAL Roller Hockey Season Starts
PAL roller hockey opened last week for the 2005-2006 season with some great and mild weather, getting the games into full swing.
