At last week's meeting of the Village of Mineola Board of Trustees, Mayor Jack M. Martins and the community-planning committee headed by former Mayor Bob Hinck unveiled the village's master plan, a 70-page document for suggestions and guidelines for creating a better, more vibrant Mineola.

Volunteers Urgently Needed for Mustang Run
On Sunday, Nov. 20, the 21st annual Mineola Mustang Run/Walk will be held in Mineola, beginning at Mineola Middle School. The event is being held in honor of former Mineola mayor and town receiver of taxes Anne Galante. The one-mile run/walk will start at 9 a.m. and the 5K (3.1 mile) run goes off at 10 a.m. Each year, the number of runner s and walkers participating in the events continues to grow. Volunteers are needed to stand or sit on the street corners to protect the runners and walkers from traffic to ensure community safety. Volunteers are also needed to give out water and refreshments to the participants. Anyone interested in helping, should contact Linda Fairgrieve at 294-5914.
