On last Sunday the Mineola PAL Chiefs rode their team bus to Newbridge Road Park to take on the Bellmore Braves in a Nassau County youth football game.

The Chiefs produced a twin attack to advance their 2005 NCYFL record to 5-0 and extend their two-year winning streak to six in a row. The first part of this twin attack featured 15 different ball carriers put the Chiefs ground attack in high gear. Super touchdowns runs by Brian Gaffney and Chris Comito highlighted a fantastic ground game which produced 268 yards rushing.

The second part of the Chiefs twin attack came on the strong right arm of quarterback Patrick Brown who completed four of seven passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Up front the outstanding play of Mineola's offensive line of Greg Hoerter, James Brodie, Christian Trasolini, Brendan Philbin, Shaw Khalillullah, Bobby Lenney, Bobby Dwyer and Anthony Caruso, which sparked the twin attack to a team record of 335 yards total offense.

Over on the defensive side Mineola led by team Captain Anthony Fassino, nose guard Andres Blandon, defensive end Paul Reo, linebacker Tevin Carlo, defensive end Chris Rivera, linebacker Cody Omage, and tackle Brendan Mallon produced their fifth shutout of the season.
