A 29-year-old man who was returning on his bicycle after delivering food from New Hing Hing Kitchen on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola was beaten on Nassau Boulevard and Musgnug Avenue in Mineola, according to police.

Police said that on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 9:59 p.m., the man was confronted by three black males. Police alleged that one of the subjects struck the delivery man on the head and knocked him off the bicycle while the other subjects continued to strike the victim about the head and body with unknown objects.

Police said the subjects stole an undisclosed amount of money and a cell phone before fleeing on foot.

A Nassau County Police Department Ambulance transported the victim, who suffered a severe laceration to the top of his head, a possible fractured jaw, and multiple contusions/lacerations to his body, to Winthrop-University Hospital, according to police.

The delivery man's sister said on Friday he was at home recovering.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
