Mineola Time Capsule Found
As 2006 approaches, plans are being made for the village's centennial 100 anniversary celebration. The Mineola 100th Anniversary Celebration Committee led by John Davanzo, Robert Hinck and Candida Maia is busy formulating plans for the celebration. Part of the plans to celebrate the centennial include a parade, concert by the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra and a ball, featuring a 50s theme. On the last day of celebrating the birthday of Mineola, another time capsule will be buried.

Village Auditor Conducts Audit of Library
Village of Mineola auditor Giacomo Ciccone conducted an audit of the Mineola Memorial Library after it was discovered that some funds were missing. Ciccone reported to the mayor and the board of trustees at Wednesday's village board meeting that procedures are now in place to safeguard funds collected by the library such as late fees for borrowed materials.

Mineola's Dnyprowsky to Put on the Gloves for Charity
More than 20 of Long Island's brightest and toughest business professionals will go head-to-head in the ring to support the 3rd Annual Long Island Fight for Charity at the Long Island Hilton at 6 p.m. The card for the evening will include more than 10 bouts that pit local business professionals against each other for charity.
