Mineola School District Sticking to Capital Plan
In February, the Mineola School District saw its $23 million bond referendum for capital projects in the district fail by a wide margin. In May, a scaled down version of the referendum also failed. However, capital repairs continue to go on in the district and the board has made a commitment to its plan of capital repairs and preventive maintenance, as its budget will allow.

The Koeppel Ford dealership on Jericho Turnpike was demolished. Construction for Chaminade High School's new activity and athletic facility could begin as soon as the Village of Mineola's building department receives the final plans and issues the permit.

The Mineola Mustang Run/Walk Committee donated $4,000 to the Parent and Child Education Program (PACE), located at 302 Willis Avenue in Mineola. Parent and Child Education Program provides many beneficial programs to foster better relations between parents and children and improve overall child development.
