The Mineola Community Pool held its first "splash party" of the season Saturday, July 2. Family Fun Night was a huge success thanks to all those participating, especially D.J. Steve Griffin and the pool staff who had Mineola neighbors of all ages dancing and swimming under the stars until 10:30 p.m.
Residents are reminded to mark their calendars for upcoming events: Middle School Night will be held at the pool on Friday, July 22, from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This event is for all students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grade for the 2005-2006 school year. All attending must show proof of grade (i.e. school ID, report card, etc.) to enter. Feel free to bring snacks and beverages. (A special note to all parents: no child will be allowed to exit the pool once they enter, and all students must be picked up by an adult at 10:30 p.m. If someone else is picking up your child, please provide a note to the pool supervisor stating your child's name and the name of the individual who will be picking up your child and your signature.) The intramural swim team will have its first swim meet on Wednesday, July 13, at 6 p.m. and our second "Family Fun Night" will take place on Saturday, July 30, from 8-10:30 p.m.
