School District Goes Right to Contingency
The Mineola School District Board of Education was so disheartened by the residents' rejection of the 2005-2006 proposed budget last week, the board decided not even to try again. The board voted by a 4-1 margin not to put another budget before voters and adopt a contingency budget for the 2005-2006 school year.

Swim Lessons at the Mineola Pool for 2005
Registration for swimming lessons - Session I, which runs from June 28-July 15, and Session II, which runs from July 19-August 5 - at the Mineola Pool will be held one day only on a first come, first served basis. The date is Saturday, June 25 at 8 a.m. at the front gate of the pool.

Mineola Middle School Lacrosse Team Improves to 4-0
The Mineola Middle School boy's lacrosse rolled over Great Neck South at Hampton Stadium by a final score of 15-2 on Wednesday. Twelve different players recorded a point in a well balanced attack for the Mustangs who were led by Paul Krumholz's 4 goals. He now had 7 goals in his last 2 games. Miko Hammam had 2 goals, 4 shots and 4 ground balls in his first game as a starter this season. Bobby Port won all 8 face-offs he took and has lost only one of his last 19 draws. The defense was at the top of its game, impenetrable in the final three and a half periods. Evan Cassin added a goal and an assist off the bench. The squad is coming together very nicely as they enter the middle stretch of their schedule.
