On Wednesday, April 27, the Mineola Fire Department had a call at Western Beef on Second Street in Mineola at 6:54 a.m.

Not only did Senator Balboni thoughtfully supply us doughnuts, because of his efforts in helping us obtain a valuable piece of equipment such as the Mobile Air Station, we were able to replenish our breathing apparatus on sight and not have to worry about the safety of our members. It not only saved time, but possibly lives.

On behalf of our officers and members, I wish to thank Senator Balboni for always being available when the Mineola Fire Department needs him.

John J. Gayson, Jr.

Chief, Mineola Fire Department
