This Saturday, it is once again time for the annual Mineola Fair, which will take place between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. in Mineola Memorial Park, located off Marcellus Road, next to the library.

The fair is a great way to meet and spend time with neighbors and friends on a spring day.

The 2005 Mineola Fair is sponsored by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce and the Incorporated Village of Mineola. The Mineola Fair gives the entire Long Island community a day to come together as one, seeing displays of different local businesses, nonprofit agencies, craft vendors, political organizations, veterans organizations, schools, and ethnic organizations for a wonderful community family day.

There will be a petting zoo and rides for small children, model racing cars, antique cars, a marching band, pie eating contest, performances by dance troop's, music groups, a rock'n roll band, a karate demonstration, a fireman rescue demonstration and more.

Each year about 10,000 people come to the Mineola Fair, enjoying non-stop entertainment from the 750 people performing on the stage during the day.

The Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Mineola Fire Department and the Mineola Auxiliary Police will each receive money raised from the fair to help with operations for those organizations.

Anyone wishing to become a major sponsor, display crafts, volunteer and if you would like more information, call 408-3554.
