Mineola resident Mary Murtha of Berkley Road was at home last Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 11, when she heard yelling coming from the street. She looked outside her door to see a man bleeding in the street.

New Line Party Nominates Martins, Werther and - DaVanzo
The New Line Party held a meeting on Friday, Jan. 14 during which the party nominated candidates for the March election. As expected, the party nominated Mayor Jack M. Martins and Deputy Mayor Larry Werther to run for re-election. However, in what may be considered a big surprise, the party nominated lifelong resident, former village trustee and former Town of North Hempstead Clerk John DaVanzo to run for trustee.

Knights of Columbus to Sponsor Free Throw Contest
All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in a competition for the 2004-2005 Knights of Columbus Corpus Christi Council 2502 Free Throw Championship. The competition will be held Thursday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi School, 120 Searing Avenue, which is one block south of Corpus Christi Church, east of Willis Avenue.
