Arrest Could Prove to Be Bad Timing
There is no good time for the arrest of an assistant superintendent and chief financial officer on charges of larceny, but for the Mineola School District, the timing could not be worse. On Feb. 15, the district will go before the public and ask for the approval of a $23 million bond referendum for capital improvements to the schools.

It was a sad day for the Mineola School District. Last week, the Nassau County District Attorney's Office announced the arrest of assistant superintendent of finance and operations for the Mineola School District and charged him with third degree grand larceny.

Reggie Carter Night at Mineola High School
The annual games to be played in remembrance of Reggie Carter will be played on Friday, Jan. 21. The evening will kick off with varsity wrestling at 4 p.m. vs. Oyster Bay High School, followed at 6 p.m. by girl's varsity basketball by Clarke High School and the boy's varsity basketball game vs. Island Trees at 8 p.m.
