On Sunday, Dec. 12 Corpus Christi fifth grade boys continued their road trip against St. Aidan's with a close-fought win to bring their season to 4-0.

The Lions, who were still missing Justin "Oak Tree" Pilla, who is hoping to come off the disabled list shortly and Ryan Harty unavailable for this game, were able to pull out a tough game against a very, very strong team from St. Aidan's.

The boys from Corpus Christi started by hitting their shots but the very quick, athletic team from St. Aidan's continued to answer with a bucket of their own as the game seesawed back and forth. It was such a fierce battle back and forth battle, the game had to be delayed as the scoring was so high that the power being used by the scoreboard blew out the ceiling lights and both teams had to wait for the lights to come back on.

Corpus Christi, who are known for excellent team defense and hitting the open man, were matched by St. Aidan's defense and knack for hitting the open man as well. Both coaches were very proud of the performance of their respective teams and look forward to playing against each other later in the season.
