Mineola Mustang Run/Walk Raises Record $40,000
Mineola Mustang Run Committee Chairperson Linda Fairgrieve announced that the 20th Mineola Mustang Run/Walk held on Sunday, Nov. 21 raised a record $40,000. A record 1,040 registered for the event. Hundreds of Mineola runners and walkers participated in the 3.1-mile run/walk and one mile fun run-and-walk.

McCarthy Secures Funding for Mineola's Road Evaluation
Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) announced the fiscal year 2005 Omnibus Appropriations bill passed by both houses of Congress on Saturday contained $20,000 for the Village of Mineola's Road Evaluation Project.

Corpus Christi 6th Grade Girls Reach Halfway Mark
The 6th Grade Girls White team have now won five straight games after an opening night loss. Their 5-1 record is good enough for a tie for first place in their division. This high-powered team uses the full court press to wear down their opponents and then their many weapons on offense take over. Krystie Kern, Heather Gessner and Kalie Medlock take turns leading the team in scoring while Tina Basile, Megan Brady and Katie Dul work the boards.

Wheatley Cross Country Team
For the third consecutive year, the Wheatley School varsity cross country team has won the Nassau County Class "C" championship. Under the leadership of veteran coach, Dan Walsh, the team swept through the dual meet season with a record of 11-1, losing only to Oyster Bay. Early in the season, the Wildcats garnered impressive second-place finishes in two highly competitive invitational meets. They competed in the Jim Smith Meet, hosted by Suffolk County coaches at Sunken Meadow and the team also traveled to upstate Brewster to compete in the Bear Classic Meet.
