The Mineola Chief's 7-year-old's played at home on Sunday and beat the Garden City Thunder 20-6 in front of a crowded Hampton Field. This brings their record to 5-1-1.

The 7-year-old Chiefs dominated the first half of the game on both sides of the ball. The defense dominated the Thunder's offense all day long, with great pressure put on by Teddy Capsis of the defensive line and smothering tackling by linebackers Andrew Cunningham and Thomas O'Connell.

The Chiefs scored on all three series in the first half. First touchdown was a powerful five yard drive by Ryan Eccher. The extra point was scored by Teddy Capsis. The second touchdown was an exciting 25-yard sweep by Andrew Cunningham cutting back for the score. The third touchdown was a 12-yard drive for the extra point and the Chief's took a 20-0 lead into halftime.

The second half was no different. The defense was all over the Thunder and quieting the storm. The linebackers were focused as they attacked the ball making open field tackles and finishing the job. The entire Mineola 7-year-old team played and participated in the victory.
