Carolyn McCarthy went to Congress in 1997 as an advocate for gun control after losing her husband in the 1993 Long Island Rail Road massacre, which also injured her son. Now, as she completes her fourth term in Congress, McCarthy has worked on other issues such as healthcare and education. The Mineola Chief's 7-year-old's went and played on the road twice this past week. On Sunday they tied the Uniondale Knights 0-0 and then on Wednesday night they beat the Inwood Buccaneers 13-6, to move to a winning record of 4-1-1. FULL STORY
