The talk around the Mineola School District in recent years is continuous improvement when it comes to student achievement. Now, though, talk is also including other improvement to the school district infrastructure, which Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lorenzo Licopoli said has been neglected when it comes to preventative maintenance.

Mineola Shines at Parade of Champions
On Saturday, Oct. 9, Hampton Stadium was the site of the New York State Field Bank Conference Marching Band Competition, part of the Long Island-based championship competitions for marching bands. As the host school, Mineola performed last but one could say the best was saved for last. The Mustangs Marching Band received the highest score out of the 12 schools that competed in the Parade of Champions.

The Mineola Chief's 7-year-olds got defensive and shut out the East Rockaway Raiders 12-0 this past Sunday morning.

Mustangs Sports News
The Mineola High School varsity football team's hopes of making the playoffs moved forward when the Mustangs won their homecoming game 13-7 over East Rockaway. Mineola got on the board in the first half on a 35-yard TD pass from Richie Carter to Tom Owens. Julio Gauto added the extra point.
