Every year the highlight of the New Teacher Orientation Day in Mineola is the bus trip sponsored by the Mineola Teachers Association and the district, headed by our own Matt DeLuca, tour guide extraordinaire. The bus tour is so successful due to the work of Mr. DeLuca, the Teachers Association and the generosity of the business people in the Mineola area. As the bus passes eateries and merchants, Mr. DeLuca points them out, gives a wonderful overview of the business and then pulls a name of a new staff member to receive a gift certificate which has been so generously donated by the establishment.
