Chaminade Gets Go Ahead on Project
Chaminade High School's plan to build an athletic gymnasium and auditorium on the site of the former Koeppel Ford dealership, located on the south side of Jericho Turnpike between Marcellus and Saville Road, was approved unanimously by the village board last Wednesday night.

The 160 members of Mineola High School's championship Mustangs Marching Band and Rockettes are ready to begin another winning season. A tradition of snagging top spots in state and national competitions has not made these youngsters complacent. This year, they have prepared their most challenging show yet.
Mineola Mustang Run/Walk Meeting to Be Held Tuesday, September 14
Mineola Mustang Run/Walk committee presents a check for $3,750 to the Mineola Police Athletic League (PAL) to be used for improving the sports programs for the hundreds of young adults and children who participate in the PAL's many programs.
Mineola Mustang to Host Soccer Tournament
The 6th annual Mustang Cup Soccer Tournament is set for this week at Mineola High School. The Mustang boys varsity soccer team will host the four-teem, two-day event on its soccer field behind the high school. The tournament begins Friday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. Mineola will face West Hempstead while Lynbrook plays Floral Park. The consolation and championship games will be played on Saturday at 10 a.m. These tournament games will be followed by the 4th annual Mineola Alumni Game. The game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Mineola High School.
