Before leaving for college add one more item to your "to do" list - get an absentee ballot for the November election.
You are eligible for an absentee ballot if you are a registered voter who will be out of town or unable to appear at the polls due to illness or disability on Election Day.
Application forms are available at Assemblyman Tom DiNapoli's office at 11 Middle Neck Road, Suite 200, in Great Neck from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They can also be requested by calling the office at 482-6966.
If you are not registered, you can also get a New York State voter registration form from Assemblyman DiNapoli's office. To register, you must be 18 years old and a US citizen. Forms are available in English and Spanish and must be filed no later than 25 days before the election.
