Yet Another Bank in Mineola and a Gensel's Move
The plan calls for Gensel's to relocate to the nearby shopping center, which contains the new Panera Bread, which is scheduled to open Aug. 23, a laundromat and a Duane Reade. A Commerce Bank would then be constructed east of Herricks Road just south of Clarissa Road.

Mineola Fire Department Mourns Loss of Brother
The officers and members of the Mineola Fire Department are saddened to announce the passing of Honorary Chief, Ex-Captain Thaddeus "Teddy" Nowakowski on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004. With over 57 years of service to Engine Company 3, Teddy was a well-respected member of the Mineola Fire Department.

Mineola Grads Named ECAC Women's Lacrosse All-Stars
Commissioner of the ECAC Phil Buttafuoco has announced that Adelphi University junior Katherine Hock has been named the 2004 ECAC Division II Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year while her teammate Allyson Murphy has been named 2004 ECAC Division II Women's Lacrosse Goalie of the Year.
