But in the morning, before the rains drenched the blacktop streets and the green parks, communities honored the memory of our nation's fallen heroes.

Corpus Christi's 2004 Role Model
On Sunday, May 25, Corpus Christi's coaches and friends celebrated its 2004 CYO Role Model at the Knights of Columbus in Seaford. This year's role model winner was Msgr. Bob Batule. Pastor Jim Bowman and several coaches were on hand to congratulate Msgr. Bob for his long overdue award.

Mineola's 53rd Little League season got under way with an evenly played game. Both teams looked in mid-season form. K's scored all their runs in the fourth inning on four straight hits. With one out, Robby Clarkin singled, Zachary Englis followed with a single, putting runners on the corners. Peter Ciuffo singled to score Clarkin, and Luke Escobar singled to score two more for all three runs. Pitching for the first time in their little league careers, and all three pitched very well, were Ciuffo, Clarkin and Englis. The three totaled 12 Ks on the night.
