Dignitaries Break Ground on Nassau County 9/11 Memorial
During a somber ceremony at Eisenhower Park March 11, President George Bush, flanked by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Governor George Pataki, County Executive Tom Suozzi, Ian Siegel, president of the Nassau County 9/11 Memorial Foundation, Arlene Howard, mother of the late George Howard, and Janet Wexler-Magee, wife of the late Charles Magee, helped break ground at the site of a future memorial that will honor hundreds of Nassau County 9/11 victims.

To Bond or Not to Bond?
With a debt rising as high as $33 million, the Village of Mineola has found itself in need of addressing it. As of Jan. 7, 2004, had a total annual debt service expense of $2,970,778. But while there isn't much the village can do with its existing debt except pay it off, there is something that can be done about incurring future debt.

Mustang Wrestlers Enjoy Strong Season
The Mineola High School varsity wrestling squad has a surprisingly strong season and made coach Dan Guido proud of what the team was able to accomplish. "When the season began, the expectations for the Mustang wrestlers was not very high. The first half of the line-up was made up of freshmen and sophomores," the coach said.
