North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Town Clerk Michelle Schimel announced today that the 2004 North Hempstead Women's History Month Breakfast celebration and Roll of Honor induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 25 from 8:00 to 10 a.m. at Clinton G. Martin Park in New Hyde Park. In addition, it was announced that the town will be receiving nominations for the 2004 Women's Roll of Honor now through Wednesday, Feb, 25.

"I am excited to announce that this year we will again add another outstanding group of North Hempstead women to our Women's Roll of Honor," said Supervisor Kaiman. "I invite all town residents to help us honor the women who have made a continuing difference in the town by submitting their names to the nominating committee."

"Thanks to the efforts of former Supervisor May Newburger, we have been able to establish a tradition of honoring the extraordinary women whose hard work has made the North Hempstead community a more wonderful place every day," added Town Clerk Michelle Schimel, the event chairperson.

Since 1994, North Hempstead has held a Women's History Month Breakfast to honor women who have made a contribution to their community, possess a special personal talent, or have accomplished a significant achievement through public or quiet work.

Anyone interested in submitting a name for consideration can either call North Hempstead Town Hall (516) 869-7700, or log on to the town's website at www.northempstead.com and download the submission form.
