Joseph P. Gallo, 78, of Salem, OH, formerly of New York, passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2004 at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Falerna, Italy on April 10, 1925 to the late Angelina (Folenia) Gallo and Peter Gallo. Mr. Gallo was a member of St. Paul's Church, Salem, St. Patrick's Church, Youngstown and the American Legion, Youngstown. He was co-founder of the Italian American Civic Association in Mineola, transferring his membership to Salem. He owned and operated Gallo Decorating for 35 years in Mineola. He was a WWII veteran. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra M. (Evans) Gallo; his three children, Mary Gallo (Robert Dempsey) of Bayside, Queens, Alba Gallo (Kit Robinson) of Middleton, NJ, and Thomas Gallo of Youngstown; three grandchildren, Allison Marie Dempsey, Alex Joseph Dempsey and Faith Ashley Robinson. Arrangements were made by Copeland's Sewickley - Irvine Chapel. Blessing service with Father Dave Poecking officiating. Burial St. James Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512. Daniel Patrick Kealy, of Williston Park, died on Jan. 12, 2004. Brother of Sheila Hartman and the late Kathleen, Margie, Eileen, Geraldine, Bill and Bridget. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, Williston Park. Funeral Mass at St. Aidan's RC Church. Interment St. John's Cemetery.
