Mineola Mustang Run Raises Record $33,000
Mineola Mustang Run Committee Chairperson Linda Fairgrieve announced that the Mineola Mustang Run/Walk, held on Sunday, Nov. 23, raised a record $33,000. A record 1,027 registered for the event with 785 runners and 144 walkers signed up for the 5K (3.1 mile race) and 98 participating in the one mile fun run. The event also received a strong contribution from the Mineola community as 224 Mineola residents signed up.

Village and Hospital Work on Parking Garage Agreement
The Mineola American has learned that the village and Winthrop-University Hospital have reached an agreement with regard to the parking garage located at 3rd Avenue and First Street. The details of the agreement should be announced at the village meeting on Dec. 10.

Corpus Christi Girls Fifth Grade Basketball Teams Take Trip to West Point
Corpus Christi Girls fifth grade basketball teams had a very busy weekend, first with Corpus Christi's (old school) team playing an awesome game on Saturday, Nov. 22, against St. Anne's and coming away with an impressive 26-6 win. Everyone participated in the win with Heather Gessner having the game high of 12 points, Katie Dul showed her scoring touch with two big buckets and Kayla Vesley and Erin Carr-Fragiacomo again shut down the opponents' top players with their aggressive defense.

Mineola Mustangs Basketball Preview
Jerelle Harrison: Co-captain, third year varsity player and two-year starter at point guard. Offensively, he is a great passer with an explosive first step to the basket. Defensively, he has incredibly quick hands, averaged more than 5 steals per game last year. We will count on him for his senior leadership, maturity and scoring. He's the key to the offense. As Jerelle goes, so goes the team.
