District Council of PTAs of the Mineola School District presented over 75 books to the board of education and Deborah Shaw, director of the Willis Avenue School, at the October 16, 2003 board meeting. Borders Books in Westbury made a generous donation as well as Bookspan in Garden City, which donated 70 books to the Pre-K and Kindergarten children of Willis Avenue.

At the same time, a donation of over 50 books was made by the Clerical Union of the Mineola School District in memory of Frank Bosso, a resident of Mineola and father of the president of the Clerical Union, Patricia Stichweh.

The parent groups of the Mineola School District would also like to thank the community for supporting all the children of the district and participating in the many activities and fund raising events that occur during the school year.
