September 11 Ceremony Held in Mineola
Thoughts and prayers were with the victims and families of September 11, 2001 and two years later, America has not forgotten that dreadful day. Last Thursday, at Mineola's Memorial Park, a ceremony was held to honor the victims and heroes of September 11 at the monument.

Local Women Contribute Quilt Square for Ovarian Cancer Awareness
Joan McGee and Elaine Madson of Mineola offered a quilt square and heartfelt story in memory of their niece to the Gilda Radner Familial Ovarian Cancer Awareness Quilts. The quilts will be unveiled in Buffalo this month during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. One will hang at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) and the other will hang at Gilda's Club. Both will honor ovarian cancer patients.

Mustangs Young But Experienced
In his 17 years as head football coach at Mineola High School, Dan Guido has seen just about everything. He has often had to battle long odds in putting a competitive team on the field. After winning the Conference IV championship and a trip to the Nassau County Class-B finals, Guido would normally have a total rebuilding job on his hand. While he and his staff of Helms Bohringer and Joe Tortorra do have to rebuild the squad, Guido has quite a bit of experience returning from that team that went 7-1 in the regular season and 8-2 overall in 2002.
