The Mineola Pool is finally wrapping up its 2003 season. The Junior Olympics and Swim Team awards took place on Wednesday, Aug. 13. Many of the participants showed up to receive their trophies.

This year's swim team awards went to Most Improved Swimmers Kevin McCloskey and Delores ChiChi for their outstanding improvements throughout the season. This year's MVPs are Matt Grieco and Natalie Leitman for their dedication and contributions to the team. Pool Board member Jay Monaco was present to hand out the awards as were Swim Team coaches Nicole Elefonte, Lauren Scala, and Sheryl Brea. Supervisors Chris Teemsma and Raymond Powers were also present to show their support to the Junior Olympics participants.

Although Mayor Martins and Trustee Franzini were unable to attend the awards night due to a Village Board Meeting, they extend their congratulations to all the swimmers. The Mineola Pool staff would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy winter and we look forward to seeing you next summer.
