On Sept. 7, the Mineola Mustang Run/Walk committee will hold a very important meeting to discuss detailed plans for the event which will be held on Nov 23 (Sunday). All persons are invited to attend this meeting. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Mineola Village Hall/Community Center, located on Washington Avenue, Mineola. All non walkers and runners are especially invited. Call Linda Fairgrieve at 294-5914 to volunteer or for further information.

The Mineola run/walk will feature a one-mile fun run/walk and a 5K run/walk. The proceeds from the 2003 event will benefit the Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Mineola Athletic Association, Mineola Police Athletic Association, Mineola Auxiliary Police, Mineola Fire Department, Mineola Historical society, Mineola Youth and Family Services, Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital, and the Parent-Child Education Program, Inc. (PACE). Over $30,000 was contributed to these organizations from the 2002 run/walk.
