On Thursday, Aug. 7, the County Seat Kiwanis Club was once again at Wilson Park to hold Youth Day for the children of the Mineola Summer Recreation Program. The members of Kiwanis presented ribbons to all the children after the campers participated in a morning filled with activities.
After presenting the ribbons, the kids were treated to a lunch of barbecued hot dogs, which was donated by Phil Fortuna of Long Island Checker Cab. Mr. Fortuna also helped with handing out the ribbons and cooking the hot dogs.
The County Seat Kiwanis can be counted on each year to give the children of the summer recreation program a treat. Representing County Seat Kiwanis were John DaVanzo, Tony Bellissimo, Judge Scott Fairgrieve and Ed Curran.
Also on hand to congratulate all the children were Mineola Mayor Jack M. Martins and Trustee Steve Franzini.
