Mineola Mustang Run/Walk chairperson Linda Fairgrieve has announced that the first 2003 Mustang Run/Walk meeting will be held on Sunday, June 8 at 7 p.m. at Mineola Village Hall's community center.

All residents and members of the business community are welcome at the meeting. One does not have to be a runner or walker to help on this year's event, which will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23.

The 2002 Mustang Run/Walk donated over $30,000 to the following groups: Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Mineola Athletic Association, Mineola Police Athletic League (PAL), Mineola Auxiliary Police, Mineola Fire Department, Mineola Historical Society, Mineola Youth and Family Services, the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop-University Hospital and Parent and Child Education, Inc. (PACE).

The June 8 meeting will discuss plans for the 2003 event. Most importantly, a large group of volunteers are needed to assemble this year's fund-raising mailing, which will total approximately 2,500 letters.
