Rabbi Anchelle Perl, director of the Chabad of Mineola, issued the following statement:
"During these trying times, it behooves us not to be a bystander or a simple spectator in the war effort.
"We must become partners in the valiant efforts of our brave men and women of the US Military Forces. They are doing the physical job. We must respond in kind by doing our spiritual job.
"We must become their soul partners if we increase our prayers, strengthen our faith in G-d and increase in our acts of goodness and kindness for each other. This will surely strengthen and reinforce our troops in Iraq and will help us all to replace our fear with courage, and confusion with determination.
"America's greatest blessing is its value of life, individual liberty and freedom for all to live in a world of peace with compassion and caring for one another.
"G-d Bless America, the land we all love!"
