Mineola Mayor-elect Jack Martins stopped by the Mineola Civic Association meeting at the Community Center last Tuesday. He informed the group that village board meetings, work sessions and public meetings will be held in the public meeting hall so residents can be comfortable and hear the board at work.

Martins also announced that he would be adding additional open meetings and would be dropping the five minute comments by the public rule to see how the meetings evolve.

He also said that Cablevision equipment and broadcasting should be up and running in a few months.

The civic association members thanked the future mayor for attending their meeting and asked him to invite the village trustees to stop by in the future.
