With an incredible 3-2 overtime win over the first-place Chiefs, the Blackhawks have pushed their winning streak to eight games and have taken over the top spot in the Bantam Division. The Blackhawks finished the regular season with a record of 8-2-1 and since then have won three more playoff games without a loss.

With the fine defensive play of goalie Kevin Gayson and from defensemen JohnCarlo Clancy, Tom McKeever, Joe "Wheels" Wellbrock and Ashraf Hammam, the team has kept the opposition at bay. James Rosano, Evan Ryan and Anthony Hefelle all braved the cold to help their teammates run to the finals, while James Kerins, Dean Dombrowski, Brnedan Hickey and Cillian O'Sullivan helped to solidify the middle line.

But the powerful offense of Tyler White, John Chiarelli, Ricky Jarvis and Justin Moshensky have been responsible for many of the 68 goals the Hawks have netted this season, often coming through at the last minute when one was sorely needed.

Thanks to Wellbrock, who is one player who hustles from the time his skates hit the rink 'til you drag him off at the next whistle and Charles "to the max" Tripi, the squad has the depth and desire to go all out. Next stop: The Finals!
