On Thursday, March 27 through Saturday, March 29, the Mineola Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present A Chorus Line.

The show, the Mineola High School musical for the year, features a lot of singing and dancing done by the high school students. Under the direction of director Ed Murray and assistant director Liz Cahill, the students have been practicing dance routines at the American Theatre Dance Workshop in the Herricks Community Center.

While the actors and actresses seem to be having a lot of fun rehearsing for the play as director Murray practices each dance routine with the students until it is perfected, the show should prove to be challenging for the students to perform. One challenge is making sure all of the dancers are in sync during the dance routines.

The show depicts the audition process for a group of dancers who are auditioning for a Broadway show. Through the audition, the audience learns about the lives of the dancers.

The show should prove to be enjoyable as the Mineola High School performers have been practicing for months. The show will be performed on Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m., Friday, March 28 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 29 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and children under 12.
