For the second time in three years, Corpus Christi boys seventh grade basketball team have reached double digit wins 10 against two losses, good enough for second place in the CYO regular season and are headed to the Nassau/Suffolk Playoffs.

The final two games of the season saw the boys from Mineola at their best as they defeated St. Patrick's 43-16 with Michael Brady leading all scorers with 13 points followed by TJ Gessner with 12. Gabe Couto played another strong game scoring four points along with point guard Chris Brostek and power forward Mike Diglio.

The last game of the season, Corpus Christi played their smothering defense against St. Edwards and came away with a 30-19 win. This game saw Jimmy Murtha lead all scorers with 10 points and rookie Shamar Stephen follow that up with six points and six rebounds. Brendan Reedy scored two points with a jumper from the top of the arc and Alex Lopes dished out three assists.

On Saturday, Feb. 22, both of Corpus Christi's seventh grade boys teams played at halftime of an exciting Hofstra game. They experienced what a big court it is and had a lot of fun. They even got to tour the locker room and get autographs.
