Corpus Christi boys seventh grade basketball team is back on track as they have won two in a row after losing two tough fought battles with St. Martins of Amityville (45-35) and a squeaker to St. Francis (35-33). Even in defeat, the boys from Mineola played inspired basketball, as those games were played with only six players dressed, as injuries, illness and school functions left the team small in numbers but not in heart. Mineola High School track and field Head Coach Kristin Degnan has done wonders with the revived Mustang program. In only its second year of existence, Degnan has turned the Mineola program into a force in Nassau County. The coach said, "At the beginning of this season, the goals were clear cut. We wanted to improve on last year's finishes. The boys winter track team finished sixth and two athletes earned All-Conference honors.
