The Mineola High School Athletics Booster Club is holding its first Mustang
Stakes fund raising affair on Saturday, Feb. 1st at the American Legion
Hall in Williston Park on Willis Avenue.
The evening begins at 7 p.m. Tickets for the Mustang Stakes are $17.50 per
person, if purchased by Jan. 19. Tickets are also available at the
door for $25. The Mustang Stakes is an evening of fun, food and picking the
ponies, all to benefit the students of the Mineola School District. The
funds raised through the Mustang Stakes are used by the booster club to fund
college scholarships for graduating seniors, summer sports camp scholarships
for students in grades eight through 11 and other donations as needed by the
school.
The booster club also operates a concession stand at all Mineola
home football games and provides concessions at other school sporting
events. The Mineola School District is comprised of homes in Mineola,
Williston Park, Albertson, Garden City Park and the Roslyn area.
The booster club also is in need of items to be used as prizes for the
Mustang Stakes. The club is able to use gift certificates for goods and
services, discounts and merchandise. All donations will be used and
certainly greatly appreciated. These donations are welcome from anyone,
including merchants and interested citizens.
Anyone who would like to purchase tickets for the Feb. 1 Mustang Stakes, or would like to make a donation toward the event, please contact Miriam Anania (516-621-4604) or Mary Boeshore (516-484-7328).
