Joseph W. Maresca, 91, of New Hyde Park, died on Dec. 17, 2002. He graduated from LIU with a bachelor of science degree. He was employed at United Fruit Co. as a freight traffic manager retiring in 1969. He served in WWII in the US Navy. He volunteered at Winthrop (Nasssau) University Hospita, AARP New Hyde Park, Meals on Wheels and the FISH program. He was an active member of American Legion Post #144. Husband of the late Macy C. Father of Joseph W. Maresca Jr. and Rose Marie Maresca. Brother of Marie Farina, Samuel P. Maresca, Lucille Moriaroty, William J. Maresca, Honey Maresca, Marianne Maresca, Phyllis Cafiero and the late Tito R. Maresca and Philip A. Maresca. Son of the late Rosalie M. and Samuel J. Maresca. Grandfather of Helyn M. Ulfik, Michele E. Maresca and Craig R. Maresca. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Williston Park.
