I first met Fr. Ken in January of 1988 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Lindenhurst. We grew to know each other and developed a strong friendship. In 1996 when I was transferred from Our Lady of Grace in West Babylon, I returned to my first parish and my first love, Corpus Christi in Mineola.

Fr. Ken had a strong influence in my life and in the lives of many others throughout his life, and especially as a priest. His personality was magnanimous. Everyone felt comfortable with him and he drew many people to the church. He is being remembered in St. Frances de Chantal in Wantagh, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lindenhurst, and of course, Corpus Christi.

Just as people say Fr. Michael Judge will never be forgotten, neither will Fr. Ken Winkler.

Rev. Thomas Murphy
