Joseph A. Carpenter of Mineola, died on July 10, 2002. He was a retired sergeant with the Port Authority Police at JFK. Husband of the late Helen (nee Rhatigan). Raymond A. Miller, of Williston Park, died on July 11, 2002. Husband of Mary F. Father of Eileen Fagan (Richard) and Kenneth Paul (Joan). Elizabeth F. "Betty" Paul, 85, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Mineola, died on July 12, 2002, at Foulk Manor North, Wilmington. Born in Richmond Hill and a resident of Mineola for over 50 years, Betty moved to Wilmington in 1986 to be near her family. Her husband, John P. Paul Jr., died in 1969.

She worked for 24 years in the Mineola School District, retiring in 1979 as secretary to the superintendent of schools. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Women's Club and the AARP in Mineola.

She is survived by her brother, Roy Fordham (Midge) of Hadley, NY; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Karen Paul of Placentia, CA, Larry and Lynn Paul of Wilmington; four grandchildren and their spouses, Dyana and Steve Stover of Norco, CA, Cynthia and Robbie Lammert of Moab, Utah, Brian and Jackie Paul of Wilmington, and David Paul and fianceé Carrie Goudy of Jacksonville, FL. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Bodie Fisher, Wesley Fisher, Jaclyn Thayer, Kaitlin Paul and Jaimie Lammert.

Arrangements were made by the Chandler Funeral Homes and Crematory. A memorial services was held on July 19 at Foulk Manor North, Wilmington. Burial on LI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Delaware Chapter, 100 W. 10th St., Suite 1105, Wilmington, DE 19801.
