The daily pool hours commencing on June 22 and continuing through Aug. 23 are:
Monday: 2 - 9 p.m.
Tuesday through Sunday: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
On June 26 at the tennis courts in Wilson Park, the staff will be distributing at 2:00 pm free ice pops to school aged children.
On Monday, July 1 the Park Recreation Program in Wilson Park will commence.

On Thursday, July 4, there will be a "celebration" from 1 to 3 p.m. at Wilson Park. There will be balloons, stickers and holiday crafts for children.
Pulmonary hypertension is a rare blood vessel disorder of the lung in which the pressure in the blood vessel that leads from the heart to the lungs rises above normal levels, and become life threatening. Although it doesn't discriminate based on either age or gender, there is a higher incidence in women who are in there 30s and 40s. In an effort to educate the public about the disorder, Winthrop-University Hospital's Women's Health Forum will present a free lecture. "Pulmonary Hypertension," on Wednesday, June 26. The program will begin with registration at 6:30 p.m., followed by the lecture at 7 p.m., at the Winthrop Community Outreach Center, 101 Mineola Boulevard in Mineola, at the corner of Second Street. Parking and the entrance are available in the rear of the building.
Adam Hurewitz, MD, Chief, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Winthrop, will present an overview of the disorder, including the symptoms and factors which may predispose people to the condition, as well as discuss promising new medications. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.

Geology Workshop
The Garvies Point Museum and Preserve, 50 Barry Drive, Glen Cove is hosting Geology Workshops on July 30, 31 and Aug. 1 - 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. or 1 - 4 p.m. These activities are intended for children ages 5-7 and 8-12.
Football Registration
The Mineola Chiefs will be holding its final registration for football on Tuesday, July 9, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mineola P.A.L. House at 2nd Street and Willis Avenue. Postal Rate Increase
The increase of a first class stamp to 37 cents will take effect on Sunday, June 30.
Village Offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4. The holiday collection schedule is as follows:

Village Offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day. There will be commercial garbage collection only. There will be no regular garbage collection on this day. There will be no collection of newspapers this week.
The holiday schedule for this week is as follows:
If your normal collection days are Monday and Thursday, you garbage will be collected on Monday and Wednesday.
If your normal collection days are Tuesday and Friday, you collection schedule will remain unchanged.
The Nassau Pops will again this year be performing at Memorial Park.
This year's festivities will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 5, presenting a musical oncert, and the following evening, July 6, there will be a broadway show, The Man from LaMancha. at 8 p.m.
